The Patience of Good Things

We’re delighted to share that Violette Records will be releasing Professor Yaffle’s next album later this year - the beginning of what we hope will be a long and fruitful collaboration.

Some collaborations simply feel right. For years, our paths have crossed with Lee Rogers at gigs, conversations about music that matters and through a shared appreciation for life-affirming records.

Working together on this release feels like a natural next step.

The band is currently putting the finishing touches to the album in their Upholland studio, assisted by an ever-growing collective of musicians. I've been fortunate enough to hear what marks a thoughtful evolution in their sound – Professor Yaffle recordings like "Cosmic Lullabies" and "The Outside Looking In" brimmed with psychedelic folk explorations, this new collection offers space and sharp focus, while remaining unmistakably Yaffle.

"This feels like the right time and the right home for these songs," says Lee. "We've always made music on our own terms, at our own pace. When Matt and I started talking about working together, there was no pressure, just a natural conversation about what matters in music. These new songs have taken time to find their shape, but Violette feels like the right place for them to live."

These songs are rooted in people, place, and time - carving out their own path, much like both the band and the label have always done. That shared ethos makes this collaboration feel like the start of something special.

We’ll have more details on the album in the coming months, with limited vinyl pre-orders planned. But for now, we’re simply grateful to be entrusted with bringing this music into the world.

Thank you, as always, for supporting independent music.
